VENDOTEK has developed a new EMV card reader for ATMs

Vendotek EMV Reader is designed for Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs), Automated Fare Collection in public transport, paid access systems. You can equip terminals, validators, turnstiles, metro gates, ATMs with Vendotek EMV card reader.  The device accepts Visa, MasterCard, UnionPay, contactless HF cards and NFC-enabled smartphones with Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay.

The reader body is compatible in size and mounting holes with popular ATM readers. SAM modules can be installed on an additional board connected to the reader connector. Vendotek EMV Reader features the pre-installed EMV L2 library, which ensures fast card processing and simple software development. Data is exchanged via USB or RS232 (optional) using the IntelliReader protocol. The reader supports the card emulation mode, which allows you to accept NFC-enabled smartphone payments.

VENDOTEK has started manufacturing network switches and on-board computers for public transport

Production of the VENDOTEK T Onboard PC computer for vehicles, VENDOTEK T Switch 8 and VENDOTEK T Router has started. The new products will help integrators equip public transport with low cost, full-featured VENDOTEK T contactless EMV validators.

VENDOTEK T Onboard PC can manage a network of Vendotek T Lite validators or other devices. The computer is designed for buses, electric buses, trolleybuses, trams, and other public vehicles. VENDOTEK T Onboard PC can perform computing tasks, process data, manage various equipment. It comes pre-installed with Android or Ubuntu OS. Thanks to special protection against voltage fluctuations, the computer is powered directly from the on-board network. VENDOTEK T Onboard PC is an excellent replacement for mobile POS-terminals in public transport, which are unreliable in this role.

The 8-port VENDOTEK T Switch provides communication between public transport fare collection devices using PoE Ethernet technology. It significantly simplifies switching in vehicles, replacing wire twists with a professional solution with an individual protection of each connected device. The built-in power supply unit powers the external voltage-sensitive equipment from the on-board network. The novelty guarantees reliable communication between validators and the on-board computer in buses, electric buses, trams, trolleybuses.

VENDOTEK T Router provides wired communication with validators over Ethernet 10/100 BaseT and Wi-Fi. Internet access is implemented via an LTE modem. Equipped with an output for GPS/GNSS antenna. The product is supplied with the OpenWRT operating system. You can create and edit the wireless connection settings yourself.

VENDOTEK T Switch and VENDOTEK T Router are made for professional installation and high reliability of the on-board validators network. Thanks to the integration of low cost, full-featured VENDOTEK T Lite validators with VENDOTEK T Onboard PC, passengers will be able to pay for travel at all buses, trolleybuses, trams doors without queues.

Ahmedabad’s Automatic Fare Collection system equipped with VENDOTEK contactless EMV card readers 

As one of India's fastest growing scientific and industrial hubs, the city of Ahmedabad was among the first 20 candidates selected for the government's Smart City Mission. Recognizing the vital importance of efficient public transport, Smart City Ahmedabad Development Limited (SCADL) partnered with NEC to upgrade the city's manually operated, often erratic bus transit infrastructure with a seamless, safe and reliable intelligent transport management system. Intelligently applied IoT and big data analysis technologies are enabling the city to build a smart bus system that is easy to plan, merge and grow along with its expanding footfall.

Ahmedabad's two major bus services Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and city bus AMTS operate 1,000 buses transporting 0.8 million passengers daily across the city. Despite attractive ticket prices, the bus services were underutilized due to customer concerns over quality. The previous manually operated system suffered from poor route planning, a lack of advertised bus schedules, bus-bunching, excessive waiting time, rough driving, stop skipping, and inconvenient or inconsistent cash collection. A lack of transparency also resulted in higher operating costs and customer complaint handling.

SCADL partnered with NEC to implement an intelligent transport management system (ITMS) that improves the efficiency of BRT and AMTS bus services using a cashless open-loop card system. In addition to automated fare collection, the one-stop, IoT-driven system manages bus resources, bus maintenance, transport information, and personnel, It also collects and analyzes data to help optimize resources, and boost ticket sales.

The ITMS incorporates five smart transport sub-systems including Automated Fare Collection Service (AFCS). Equipped with VENDOTEK card readers, AFCS provides quick and secure cashless payment via prepaid RuPay card or smartphone.  The supply of card readers for NEC India was made through the Greek company AMCO.

All turnstiles of bus stops in Ahmedabad are equipped with VENDOTEK bank card readers.  The collaboration of VENDOTEK, AMCO and NEC has reduced AFC equipment cost in Ahmedabad public transport. VENDOTEK equipment provides high card reading speed, preventing queues and payment problems. Automated Fare Collection Service ensures greater convenience, passenger safety and ridership visibility.

The UITP Global Public Transport Summit is the world’s biggest event dedicated to sustainable mobility which brings together all transport modes, industry authorities and operators, as well as exhibitors. The world of urban mobility came together from 110 countries to make Barcelona the public transport capital across four days of activity (4-7 June 2023).

Contactless card validators VENDOTEK T are installed for automated fare collection in Sofia metro
